If this blog is fashion oriented, I think is important to talk about other subject. Actually, Fashion is related to many artistic areas. It is related to photography of course, but also to music and cinema. More and more we see actress or singer taking the place of real models in the magazine pages and on the covers. Some of them even go on the catwalk for a show. The better example of this close relation between music and fashion is Rihanna. She has been elected Glamour’s woman of the year for her career, her fashion influence but also her behaviour in tough time (She has been hit by her Ex-Boyfriend, Chris Brown).

I choose today to talk about music because I realise how big the importance was in my life. I can’t spend a minute alone without music. I realize it during Michael Jackson’s movie, This Is It. My sister sat next to me and kept asking me question that I didn’t even hear. I was totally into the movie. Nothing else around me existed. I love feeling wrapped into music, that’s why I always listen at my I-pod rather than the radio. I think that music kind of save me during my hard time in Poland, too.

Music can bring joy, and make people cry. Music has a huge power on people, more than everything. Music expresses more things than words. Music is always related to someone, something, to a particular moment, a particular place. At least for me, my appreciation of a song doesn’t depend on who he is singing but more on what he or she is singing, how, the music beat and what it reminds me when I listen to it. Like everybody I have my favourite artistes, but it happens like sometimes I don’t like one of their songs. This is how in my playlist you can find Jay Z, Andrea Bocelli, Paul McCartney, Serge Gainsbourg, Miley Cyrus and not as famous artists.

As I said before, the reasons that make me like a song are never the same. Some makes me feel better, some other makes me melancholic. Sometimes I just like it, and I can’t say why. For example I can’t stand Kid Cudi’s “Day n Night” song because the first time I heard it, I was in Poland, and it wasn’t the best time of my life, even if at the end, I get use to live there. A second example, Black Eyed Peas’ “I gotta feeling” makes me cry (nostalgic cry) since one of my friends puts it on a video he made with the pictures he took this summer in New York.

I decided it could be fun to share with you my ten favourite songs of the week. I will post it every Sunday noon. They will come from radio, TV Show, Movies, or friends’ discoveries.

To inaugurate this new decision, here is my Top 10 of the Week:

10. Robbie Williams – Angel. His new album has been released last week and blowed my mind. He is back and hopefully for good. I choose to bring back an old song which is my all time favourite.

9. Rick Astley – I Never Gonna Give You Up. One of my friends sent me a link this week that blocked my computer for at least 10 minutes with this song playing again and again. It reminds me how much I used to love it.

8. Jay Z Featuring Alicia Keys – Empire State of Mind. Just because NEEEW YOOORK!

7. Lily Allen – Who’d Have Known. I just love her and the music video rocks.

6. Black Eyed Peas – Meet Me Halfway. It is the new single and one of the best songs of THE E.N.D. (The Energy Never Dies) disk.

5. Natacha Bedingfield – Pockeful of Sunshine. I’ve heard it in the “Ugly Truth” (Good Movie BTW) this summer, and I love it. It has been raining for two weeks now, I little bit of sun is always good!

4. Michael Jackson – They don’t care about us. No Comment.

3. Ke$ha – Tik Tok. I’ve heard this song in a Melrose Place 2.0 episode and I can’t stop listening to it.

2. Anya Marine – Whatever You Like. I’ve heard it in Gossip Girl’s new episode and I love her voice, the slow melody.

1. BB Brunes – Lalalove You. It is definitely my favourite song of the week. I just can’t stop listening to it and watching the Beatles’ inspired music video. They will launch their second album tomorrow.

Let's be serious for an article!! I went to see a french movie called the Titanic Syndrom. Nicolas Hulot, a very famous french ecologist, made this movie to show us that the world is going crazy because of us. He conclude the movie by saying that like the Titanic we all are going straight to an iceberg and it's too late to do something. It's not really optimistic and the bad thing is that he doesn't give us advice to do something to delay the crash. He only tell us things we already know...We know that the richer rules the world and that the poorests live in the street and don't have enough money to answer their primary needs. I mean, except if you are dumb or if you slept the past 50 years, you know that some people dies from starvation and war everyday.
I feel bad for all those people, I feel powerless. I would love to do big thing but I think it's important to start where I can. Recycling, paying attention to others, stop surconsuming and all those little things that look like nothing but if everyone do it can make the difference.

But on the other hand, I read an article which gave me hope. Some people in UK, Mexico and the USA help others. They dress up like superhero and like them they help homeless, old people. Their weapon maybe really limited, most of them use the camera on their cell phone, but at least they try and fight what's wrong (drug dealers, pollution...). I admire their courage and would love to contribute to our safety. Especially when I see my friends getting hit by stupid and violent guys for some stupids stories.

Two weeks ago, my purse had been stolen by some of those incredibly stupid guy, and I felt really bad and upset. It's not only the material lost, more the symbol. I felt raped. I felt like I lost everything (it was kind of the case actually). I wasn't abble to go back home because they took my keys, I was able to call someone because they took my phone and I wasn't able to take a cab or something because they took my money and all my card and ID. I never hated someone that much. I didn't understand why me, why now....What did I do to diserve this?!

Example of real-life superhero from Massachusset:

I can't help it, Chanel is and will always be the best for me. Coco was a revolutionnary and Karl is a Genius. For the lastest show of the brand he managed to do recreate a new world. He recreate a countryside atmosphere but kept Coco Chanel's spirit. How did he do that?

I have to confess that I didn't like the Fall/Winter 2009 collection but this one is just wonderful. I like how he inspired his collection of the english folk and country style. He probably get some advice from his new friend, the great Lily Allen, who is Chanel new egerie but also sang her song "It's not fair" during the show. She is really good and was perfect for this collection. Just watch the following video to make up your mind...

I think Lily's pop rock sound helps us to enter in Karl's world of farmer fairy and fun spring.

Karl turned the Grand Palais into a Posh Farm were the model present the new collection composed by more than 70 looks. Fresh, young and pure clothes appeared on the catwalk. The dresses were perfect, somes accessories were...hum...unexpected like the clogs which aren't really close to what Chanel's shoes used to look like.

Karl almost always host his show at the Grand Palais but everytime it feels like a new place. I understand now why Chanel just do one show in Paris. I can't imagine how much it would cost to show the collection in each city. Once he recreate the facade of the Rue Cambon boutique. The last time he built 5 huge bottles of Chanel N°5 perfum. I think you also remember when last year he imagined a carousel but instead of basic wood horses, he puts Chanel's symbol like the tweed jacket, the 2.55, again bottles of Chanel n°5...One Chanel show cost as much as a rockstar concert except that the show only last 30 minutes. Isn't crazy what he managed to create through the year...I can't wait to see what he imagine for the next show in January...

The only probleme of this line is the menwear...There is few looks and they are uggly. Fortunately, Baptiste Giabiconi is handsome so he manages look ok in its.

To continue, I went through Stella McCartney's show. I chose her because I love her dad...That's not really a fashion reason but it's a reason! So I looked closer at her line and I loved the dresses again. They are grafic, young and moving...Totally in adequacy with the spring time. The color are joyful and make the dresses looking like pieces of art. I didn't really like the first safary part but I have to admit that we find this still in most of the shows.

I'm gonna continue with englishborn stylist. The next collection I will critic is Vivienne Westwood's. She is the spirit of the British Punk Rock movement. I think the show should have taken place in LONDON, because it belong to the free english spirit. Her looks rock the fashion week. Totaly unwearable but certainly from a genius mind. I like the volumes and the shape of the dress. It looks like it's full with air and that you can fly with it.

The next one will be a quick criticism because it didn't really inspired me. The french iconic brand Yves Saint Lauren showed us a business inspired collection. Looks for mature business women. Nothing new, any originalities, no catchy pieces...I was expecting more from Tom Ford. His show was weak next to the others like Vivienne Westwood, John Galliano or even Chanel. Definitly too classic not unreachable enough.

I choose the next one because lately this brand is in every mouth... Balmain is HOT and HYPE right now and hopefully for a while. The Spring collection is great. Really close from what they've already done and what we love. Lot's of new Michael Jackson's inspired jacket and it could become a classic like Chanel's tweed jacket. The new collection is still really rock and pop with edgy looks. One of my favorite of the week.

To finish this overall of the Paris Fashion Week, I wanted to talk about Azarro. I think it woth more buzz and more popularity. Everything is very cute, fresh, young and femine. Light shape with pure colors, it makes me want the spring to come faster. The dresses are floating around the model. It's the best definition of the spring attitude!

That's the end of my first real fashion post. I hope you enjoyed it.

As everybody know, this week was Paris turn to host the Fashion Week. All the biggest designers and brand showed their Spring 2010 collection to the press, editors and famous fashionistas. I analyzed 10 collections, with my totally unprofessionnal eyes!

Let's start with Alexander McQueen. I think that his spring collection is too agressive for the period of the year. Spring represents the lightness, a new beginnings for the nature after the fatal winter that killed everything. I thought it was complicated, sometimes over the edge. You can be rock without being hard core.

Then, I picked Ungaro because I heard lots of critizism about the fact that Lindsay Lohan became the Creative Adviser of the brand. I think the critics had been to hard on her. First she isn't a stylist, she just gave advice and it was her first try. I think some of the dresses aren't bad. But I have to admit that some looks doesn't seem finished, like if something were missing. Usually its the top, and we all know that LiLo like to show her body. I don't think its her fault though, but the brand's who picked her.

Now, I'm going to talk about Valentino's collection, just because I loved it. It's fresh. The springish colors make me want to run in the meadow. I love bows and dresses so how could I hate this springs collection.

To continue, I would like to highlight this brand I love. It's Isabel Marant. I would describe it like a young, chic and casual brand. She offers a many gorgeous dresses and awesome jackets. It's totally wearable for everyday life. It's perfect to go to work or for a party.

I could talk about the french fashion week without talking about Jean Paul Gaultier. He may be one of the symbol of the french style especially the Parisian way of life. But I've been very disapointed by his last collection. It may be original but way too crazy and unwearable for me. You might notice it, I'm kind of classic. His runway looked like a bunch of homeless/hobo people. They seemed to put some random clothes on. The only plus is the color...I really liked it.

As many girls of my generation, I used to be a huge Britney's Fan! Actually, I'm still one but I stop hanging posters on my wall. Anyway, that's not what I want to talk today. Not completely. I don't know if you've heard, but Miss Spears launch a new single call 3. Check out the music video...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DmSZJ3fyKbs

Personnaly, I love it. For this song, she collaborates with her former producer Max Martin, who is the one who help her reach the top with songs like Baby One More Time (Brit's first Hit) and If you seek Amy, which is the song who put her back on her Princess of Pop's Throne. It's fresh different. I'm always amazed by how good she is and how easily she reinvente herself everytime. The only thing that help recognize that's a Britney Song is her voice.

For the occasion, I decided to tell you 3 things that I love about her...You're welcome to do the same!

First of all, I love her music. She is never where we expect her. I can't remember a song I didn't like. Of course, I don't love all of her songs but I don't mind listening to them either...She has a great team and knows who are the best collaborateurs to have. More than an artist, she is a great business women!

Second thing I like about her, she was the first. All the other who tried to copy her never manage to be as good and have her carreer. All of them had to change music area or even job. Jessica Simpson became a Reality TV start and sometimes an actress. Christina Aguilera tried few things and I don't think she find what type of music she is really good in, first trash then old school and now? Nothing! Britney always stay on front covers, for her music or her personnal issue. She is a phenix, she always come back even when everybody says she dead!

And to finish, the third reason that make me think that she's the best...she has a great sense of humor. I think it may be the most important thing, because without it won't have been abble to go through all. She showed her sense of humor on the David Letterman Show with the Top Ten of the changes she will bring to the US if she was president.

To conclude...Britney's the best ever!

September is almost over and almost everybody is back to school. I say almost because lots of French university are still in holidays. Anyway, that’s not the point of this article. I want to talk to you about the TV show I follow. Some just started and some are older. I choose to highlight 8 of the TV show playing in the US, from the oldest to the newer one.

The oldest one is ONE TREE HILL. As everybody knows, it’s the (love) stories of the inhabitant of a small North Carolina’s town. The main character Nathan and Lucas Scott are brother. They were rivals but became friends through the years. One tree hill launch is 7th season with plenty of new character and without two of the mains ones. Chad Michael Murray and Hilary Burton didn’t resign for this season. At first, I was kind of disappointed by this event but then, I thought that it was a good thing. There was nothing interesting left for the married couple, newly parents…Lucas and Peyton without any drama wouldn’t have been as fun. I was also happy because the new member of the cast looked really good, with interesting new characters. But when after I saw the first episode, I thought: ”this might be the extra season”. I mean it’s always the same. Always the same couples, dramas, storyline. Once again Nathan and Haley have to faith an other woman who wants to ruin their relationship. Brooke is finally with Julian but they still have distance issues…Same places, same characters, same stories. Even the new characters aren’t interesting. Let’s hope they will find their places in the show, otherwise, this could be the last season…At least, the last I will follow!

Then, I will talk about HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER. This show makes me think of a play I read few years ago. The play is called “Waiting for Godot” by Samuel Beckett. If the play sucks (I mean, I didn’t like it at all) the show I better every year. In the play, two guys are waiting for something, and talk about the guy who they are waiting for. In the show, Ted tells us the story of how he met his children’s mom. It’s funny, fresh, lovable and unexpected. Barney and Robin finally sleep together but it doesn’t mean they date, which in their case is funnier than dramatic. I love every single character for different reason and a part of me doesn’t want Ted to find the love of his life, because it will mean the show’s over. Special greetings to Neil Patrick Harris who is the best artist ever…This guys can do everything…Too bad is gay, such a waist for the women!

The next one is GOSSIP GIRL, definitely one of my favourites. I loved the two previous seasons and I was waiting for the next one. Even more this year because I spend the summer in New York and some of my friend walked into the set. The season premier was as good as I expect. Blair and Chuck are so cute together and finally assume their relationship. There is no hope for the Serena and Dan couple which is such a good thing for the show…At the beginning we don’t really understand what happen with Serena but step by step it becomes clearer, and she is just like we like to hate her. It’s a really good season premier, way better than last year’s one. I can’t wait to see the rest of the season.

Now, let’s talk about revival. First, I want to talk about the best remake. 90210 appeared last year on the CW and I loved it. It’s great, even better than the older version. I was too young to watch it but I catch up a little bit this summer. They manage to take something old and make it newer without losing the spirit of the original. The girls are bitchier and the guys are cuter. The only thing that bothers me is Annie. I love the actress but I hate the character. It always has been like that. She just pisses me of. She is always complaining! But at the same time without her it wouldn’t have been the same. I love all the other characters, with their drama and fake life. It’s kind of the backstage of the perfect life…except that we just find out that there is no perfect life and perfect world! Even where the sun shines and the money flows.

This year is also the return of Courtney Cox in a comedy. She tried Dirt about the making of a trash magazine, and it didn’t work well for the show. That’s too bad because I really liked it. Anyway, she is back with this show called COUGAR TOWN. It aired on ABC (I think) last Wednesday. My opinion? I loved it. It’s fresh and for once, women are not victim but actress. This woman who is 40 just divorced and she thought it was the end for her. It could have been…40 years old women with a kid…Nobody wants that, or maybe nobody wanted that…Now we have what they call Cougar. Older women, who do what men always did, dates younger guys. It’s funny and we have all the point of view. First Courtney characters who at first didn’t feel right about it. Then his son who is in the middle of everything and kind of recognizes himself in his mother’s prey. And finally, men who accept what they do but not when women do the same. It’s absurd and all the characters are totally crazy. I highly recommend it…Every Wednesday Night!!!

The last but not least, let’s talk about the come back of Melrose Place on TV. Like for 90210, I was too young to watch the original show so I can’t compare both. I just find out that many of today TV actors come from this show (Marcia Cross, Doug Savant, Kelly Rutherford…). So I start watching it without any prejudice. I thought the two first episodes were kind of boring but I feel lot’s of potential. At the beginning, they have to explain lot’s of thing that’s why it’s not really interesting. During the episode, we see the personalities appearing and some characters reveal themselves, like Violet (a.k.a Simpson who is surprisingly good) who had lots of drama potential. We’ll see…

To be continued…With a review at mid-season!

I don't want to go farther before a more detailled presentation of myself. Why I start this blog? Why I like fashion? Who are my influences? What else I like. So I interviewed my self...Let's see what I've got to offer!!

Can you introduce yourself very quickly.

My name is Agathe and I'm 20 years old (21 in december). I live officialy in France but those couple past year I spent more time abroad than in France. But still, I'm french. My parents live in Anglet (South West of France close to Bayonne and Biarritz) and I study in Bordeaux. I'm the older of three sisters. You will discover one of them in the next article because she accepted to work with me on this blog.

Why did you pick this name for your blog?

To be honnest, it's my sister who found it and I though it was really simple, clear but also really original.

Why did you start it? Who influence this blog?

I love lots of things and I love to write. I though it could be fun to do it in a blog. I was thinking of it for a long time when one of my parents' friend told me it could be a good reference to show, when I'll apply for jobs or interships. I want it to be fun and original. I don't want it to be one more fashion blog. I want it to look like me. It will be my thoughts about everything.

For how long do you blog?

I start my first blog on skyrock (a french radio website of offered a blog section) 7 years ago. I stoped it 3 years ago, start another one about my experiences abroad, both in french...I also start the micro blogging with Twitter (@gatemobil), facebook and myspace.

When you were a child, what did you want to become? What do you do now?

I wanted to be a fashion designer and then a movie director. I'm currently studing business at the ECE of Bordeaux, major marketing. I still want to work in fashion but the business, communication and special event planning side. I just came back from a 3 month intership at the Chanel's PR office in New York. I also spent the spring 09 semester in Poland and 3 month (January to March 08) in an internship at the Chanel's Media department in London.

When did your interest in fashion appear?

I always loved fashion, it's a part of me for a long time but at first I saw it more like an art that only rich and beautiful can afford. I was wearing baggy jeans and tee shirts. For my first year of college (4 years ago), I left home to study in Bordeaux. All the girls and the guy were nice dressed and there was lot's of stores everywhere. That's when I became a shopaholic and I started to paid attention to what I wear.

How would you describe your style?

I don't know how to describe it...One day I can be preppy and be totaly casual the day after...It depends on what I do, where I go...I follow the trend but I adapt it to my personnality.

How does your dressing look like?

It start to be impressive. Lots of clothes organize by types. On the top, the clothes I wear the most.

Who are your favorite designers?

I a huge fan of Karl Lagerfeld, for Chanel or for is own brand. I also like Vera Wang a lot. Dolce and Gabbana, Versace and Balmain are in my top 5 too. In shoes, I would died to get a Louboutin or Jimmy Choo pair. And I love Longchamps', Hermes' and Chanels' bags.

Who are you’re fashion idoles?

My role model is definitly Kate Moss! I love everything she wears. I know, it's easy because she just influence everybody. I also love Scarlett Johansson, Vanessa Anne Hudgens, Sophia Bush, Leighton Meester, Lily Allen, Cameron Diaz, Sienna Miller and the Olsens.

According to you, what are the basics in fashion?

The jean is just the only things that everybody should have at least once. It goes with everything and can be wear in a casual or fancy way. But it has to be a good one. It may seem obvious and not such a cleaver advice but lots of people don't know how to pick it and wear aweful jeans. Most of the time it doesn't fit them correctly. A bad jeans could be the biggest fashion faux pas.

How often do you change bags?

Everyday. I've got a lots of them and I choose according to what I wear. The last I get is my very first designer bag and its a Chanel bag. The PR office offered it to me when I finished my internship in their office in august.

Are you more flats or heels?

Definitly flats especially after I twisted my ankles, but it's bad because I'm short and I love heels, it's just that heels don't like me!!!

Which fashionista would you take to go shopping?

Lily Allen for sure. I love how she dressed and she is not one of those really skinny girl so I would feel comfortable next to her. I love her, she's got a great style and so much talent.

Except fashion, do you have other interest?

I have lots of interest, and you will discover them in this blog.

I hope you still want to read my blog now that you know me a little bit more.

Thanks you
